Our Guide to New Patient Appointments at The Lymington Chiropractic Clinic

Our guide to New Patient Appointments has been created to tell you everything you need to know. If you have never been to a chiropractor before, it is completely normal to feel unsure about what to expect. Please don’t worry, we shall guide you through .

Many people booking their first chiropractic appointment have questions about what will happen. What should I wear? Will treatment begin straight away? Will I need a GP referral? At Lymington Chiropractic Clinic, we believe that understanding the process helps you feel more confident and comfortable from the start.

Your first chiropractic appointment is designed to give your chiropractor a full picture of your health and the reason for your visit. At the start of the consultation, you will be asked about your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle and any previous treatment you may have had. This part of the appointment is important. It helps your chiropractor understand your concerns and decide on the most appropriate next steps for your care.

What happens during your New Patient Appointment?

Your chiropractor will take time to listen carefully to your symptoms and ask questions about how long the problem has been affecting you. They will ask about what makes it feel better or worse. And how it is impacting your day-to-day life. This helps build a clearer understanding of what may be contributing to your discomfort and whether chiropractic care is likely to be helpful.

Will there be a physical examination?

Yes, in most cases a physical examination will follow the consultation. This is used to assess the areas connected to your symptoms and build a clearer picture of your condition. Depending on the part of the body being examined, you may be asked to wear shorts or a gown so the assessment can be carried out properly and comfortably.

Will treatment start at your New Patient Appointment?

For many patients, one of the biggest concerns is simply not knowing what to expect. The good news is that your first visit is designed to be informative as well as practical. The aim is not just to look at the symptoms themselves, but to understand how they fit into your wider health picture. This means that any advice or treatment is appropriate for you as an individual.

Treatment can often begin during the first visit if it is appropriate and safe to do so. Once the consultation and examination are complete, your chiropractor will explain their findings. They will answer any questions you may have and discuss whether treatment is recommended. If a referral for further investigation or to another healthcare professional is needed instead, this will be explained clearly.

In other situations, your chiropractor may recommend further investigation or suggest another healthcare route if that is more appropriate. Our priority is always to ensure you feel informed, reassured and supported, so you can make the right decision for your health with confidence.

If you are considering booking your first chiropractic appointment in Lymington and would like to know more, our team will be happy to help. Whether you are dealing with back pain, neck pain, headaches, sports injuries or general musculoskeletal discomfort, we are here to guide you through the process and help you take the next step.
