Hannah’s Indian Massage appointments are now available to book through reception and to BOOK ONLINE.

Yes, Hannah has completed yet another course and is now qualified to offer Indian Head Massage in addition to her Sports Injury Massage, Deep Tissue Massage Therapy, Oncology Massage and Reiki.

This is already proving a popular option, with many appointments already booked for next week.

Appointments are for 45 minutes and cost £50 (same as for her standard massage treatments.)

What are the benefits of an Indian Head Massage?

Primarily considered a pampering massage (more of that later), Indian Head Massage is uplifting, relieves physical and emotional stress and anxiety, and creates a feeling of balance and well-being. It can also:

  • Improve blood flow to the head and neck
  • Relieve muscular tensions
  • Promote deep relaxation
  • Help to relieve eyestrain
  • Help improve muscle tone
  • Improve hair and scalp conditions
  • Improve lymphatic drainage
  • Improve joint mobility

What can you expect?

Although ‘head’ is in the name, much of the massage focuses on the shoulders before moving to the arms, hands, neck, head, and face.

We have a wonderful new chair, especially for Indian Head Massage. Amanda, our acupuncturist, and Hannah may also use it in other treatments as a more comfortable way to treat shoulders.

Hannah’s Indian Head Massage treatments are bespoke in that the time spent on the shoulders and head will vary according to your needs and wishes. Cutting and the blade are options for those wishing to relieve those pesky knoons.

Which brings us on to the ‘pampering’ description.

Treatments begin and end with hair combing using a special Indian Head Massage comb. Some Indian Head Massage therapists use oils to work through the hair but Hannah has opted for to use her normal Songbird massage oil, which is popular with her patients and means that you can still go out to lunch after your appointment without looking bedraggled. This has a gentle scent which is enhanced through Hannah’s subtle use of her Reiki scents Aura-Soma, Lady Nada and Gold all adding to a feeling of relaxed pampering.

Our resident guinea pig (aka receptionist Sally) has already experienced this treatment. As most of you know, Sally has Fibromyalgia, so Hannah tuned in to her more gentle side (regular Sports Injury and Deep Tissue Massage patients – yes, she does have a gentler side, ha, ha, ha!)

Sally says:

Oh my word – another amazing treatment from Hannah! Everyone knows how much I love Hannah’s Reiki treatments and Indian Head Massage has been added to my Hannah Addictions. I haven’t had a physical massage for over 10 years because of my Fibromyalgia but felt brave enough to try after many Reiki sessions.

So there’s a bit of pummeling, but Hannah’s technique with me was to smooth it away quickly. Moving seating positions from the forward-leaning chair to the comfy seat to lean back on Hannah for what I can only describe as a facial without products was also great for someone who finds it uncomfortable to stay in one position for too long.

I felt a huge relief in muscle tension across my shoulders and neck and a lightening of feeling throughout my head. I was sore and weary for a few hours the following day but able to attack the allotment with vigour by day three, having spent day two on my feet, out in the open air at a gun dog working test event. And I’m still feeling the benefits nearly a week later.
