About Lymington Chiropractic Clinic

Here at The Lymington Chiropractic Clinic, we are a team of health care professionals who are passionate about helping individuals of all ages and from all walks of life to live a pain free and drug free life.

Whether you have been living with pain for a long period of time or it is a new injury, our team will ascertain the cause of the problem and then identify the source.

We use a combination of different treatments including chiropractic adjustments, deep tissue and sports massage therapy and massage to alleviate the pain. Once treatment is complete, we provide a schedule of ongoing chiropractic treatment and /or rehabilitation advice to help keep the pain away which will include advice and recommendations for exercise regime, diet and massage.

Meet the Team

OWNERSHIP – THE WELLSTED FAMILY

Colin Wellsted took on the running of The Lymington Chiropractic Clinic in 2014. Since his sad passing in September 2025 the clinic has been under the directorship of Colin’s wife Rachael. Rachael is supported by a dedicated team of practitioners and receptionists all of whom subscribe to what we affectionately term Colin’s Culture of Care.

In essence, this means that your care starts from your very first contact with us. And you can be certain that we will always be present for you – to listen, hear, understand and care. As such Colin is still with us and his ethos and values are very much the driving force of all we do.

Charlotte Woodhouse DC   ***on maternity leave from 11th August 2025***

Charlotte graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 2018 with a masters degree in chiropractic. From a young age, she competed in gymnastics and an injury whilst training first led her to seek chiropractic treatment. Having seen the benefits first hand she decided to embark on the 4-year degree programme.

Since graduating she has worked in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. She enjoys treating patients of all ages, from 4-days to 94-years, and everything else in between!

She has a passion for helping ladies during pregnancy and treating babies and children of all ages. She has attended several post-graduate courses to further her knowledge in this area, as well as spending 1-year working alongside midwives in a ‘feeding clinic’ helping support mothers struggling with breastfeeding.

Having grown up in the New Forest, she decided to return to the sunny south coast and join the team at Lymington Chiropractic Clinic.

Charlotte is a member of the British Chiropractic Association and the Royal College of Chiropractors.

IAN MCFARLANE, MCHIRO – DOCTOR OF CHIROPRACTIC

I didn’t take the most direct route to becoming a chiropractor. Before retraining, I spent years in banking (yes, that thrilling world of spreadsheets) and earlier worked as an RSPCA Inspector (yes, that thrilling world of angry geese, runaway iguanas, and people who thought owning a pot-bellied pig in a 10th floor flat was a good idea).

The inspiration to retrain came when I met a giant on the rugby field, came off very much second best, and was stitched back together by a chiropractor. At 38, I thought, “why not start again?”—and five years later I qualified with a Masters of Chiropractic. Seventeen years on, I’ve practiced across the UK, Barcelona, and Ibiza, developing a love for both general and sports chiropractic.

I’m also very much a local lad, raised on the Waterside and schooled at Eling Infant and Junior, Hounsdown Secondary, and Totton College, before training as a chiropractor at AECC in Bournemouth.

I’ve played rugby for years (now respectfully retired before my body lodged a formal complaint), but I still get my rugby fix providing chiropractic and pitch-side support for Fawley Rugby. Outside of work, I’m happiest when moving—or moving oddly: SCUBA diving, skiing, ultra-trail running, motorbiking (especially classics), and travelling. My best adventures so far include sailing solo from Southampton to Scotland for three months in summer ’23 and riding a Royal Enfield across the Indian Himalayas.

If I ever played chess, I’d probably only enjoy it if I were hanging upside down from a mountain cliff at the same time. These days, though, my interests are (slightly) calmer: I spend more time writing YA urban fantasy novels, with a few already published.

So that’s me: a chiropractor who believes in fixing spines, keeping people moving, and collecting adventures—on and off the treatment table.
Yours in pain-free backs
Dr. Ian

Hannah Day

Massage Therapist Hannah has been with The Lymington Chiropractic Clinic since 2020 and offers Sports Injury, Deep Tissue and Oncology Massage, and Reiki.

Massage is aimed at helping to treat body stress or pain, but can be extremely effective in helping to de-stress, relax and de-clutter the mind too. By manipulating soft tissues in the body, massage therapists use a variety of skills and techniques to treat either specific problem areas or the whole
body.

A trained Sports Massage Therapist since 2016, Hannah has been very active from an early age. Her most recent passion is CrossFit and she regularly trains and competes. She also loves attending courses and seminars, so she can keep abreast of how the body works and how various muscle groups work in unison. Hannah holds a Level 4 Active IQ Diploma for Sports Massage and is trained in Cupping and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM ), which are great additions to a massage. Many patients have enjoyed the benefits, reducing stagnant blood, increasing blood flow and helping injuries heel quicker.

Another course Hannah completed and found very interesting was Oncology Massage. After passing her Cancer Awareness Level 1 and Advanced Cancer Awareness courses she went on to learn how to massage people with cancer. Oncology massage is a very gentle, full body massage with the aim to relax, unwind and help ease discomfort. The massage can be adapted to suit the individual.

The most recent course Hannah has completed is Reiki. Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing and involves placing her hands on or just above a persons body to help improve energy flow and find any potential blockages. Reiki is a non-invasive form of natural healing. The benefits of Reiki include, improved mood, reduced stress and anxiety and overall well-being. Hannah found the course fascinating and it has made a big impact on her own life.
