The Lymington Chiropractic Clinic has been treating patients with back
pain, neck pain, headache and a whole host of painful complaints for
some 21 years.
Whatever the problem may be, we have some very important goals.

Our Goals for You
Whoever you are, whatever your age, condition or previous history, we want to
help you to be as fit and well as you possibly can be.
So, if you are a competitive sportsperson and have come in with a sports injury,
we want to help you get quickly back to your sport, and fit and strong
enough to minimise the chance of further injury. On the other hand, you
may be elderly, less active and less steady on your feet than you used
to be. Our goal is to help you to be as painfree, active and agile as
you can possibly be. This will help minimise the chance of injury from
falls and enable you to enjoy life more.
Why the emphasis on activity?
We believe that one of the worst things that can happen to a person is to lose
their quality of life.
When we lose the ability (or inclination!) to be active, we are much more likely
to suffer excess weight gain, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes
or depression - and a downward spiral can follow. That is why we don't
just treat your symptoms. Our holistic approach enables us to look at
you as a whole person - your medical history, lifestyle, diet and activity
level, as well as carrying out a detailed physical, biomechanical and
neurological examination. Further tests such as X rays or blood tests
are also considered if clinically indicated.
How are these goals achieved?
Once your initial examination is completed your chiropractor will give you a
full report of findings, answer your questions and, with your permission,
start treatment. Your visits will fall into phases:
First - pain reduction
The initial phase focuses on pain reduction and usually involves gentle,
specific adjustments to correct the function of your joints. During
these sessions we may need to discuss your diet, weight, working practices
and any other factors which may be contributing to your problem.
Second - active care
We will assess your areas of weakness, and begin to teach you very specific,
gentle techniques that will help you to avoid a recurrence of the problem.
This phase usually requires less frequent visits, enabling you to practise between sessions.
Finally - maintenance
This phase involves much less frequent, check-up visits about every 3
months, similar to your dental check ups. This enables us to keep any
new problems in check before they become serious, and help you to maintain
and boost your now familiar strengthening and stability techniques.
Regular check-ups will allow you to continue working at your best, and help your
body's own healing ability to deal with whatever life throws at you!
